Krystian Wiercioch

Deputy Chairman of the Financial Supervision Commission

Krystian Wiercioch has 23 years of experience in supervisory activities. From 1999 to 2002, he worked at the State Office of Insurance Supervision, where he was responsible, among other things, for the day-to-day supervision of insurance companies and for performing inspection tasks in the field of reserve valuation. Since 2002, he was employed at the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Commission, and since 2006 at the Office of the Financial Supervisory Commission, where he held managerial positions in the area of supervision of the insurance sector. Since 2009, Deputy Director and then Director of the Insurance Inspection Department. He was responsible, among other things, for the planning and implementation of inspections at insurance companies, insurance distributors and also at Universal Pension Companies. Among other things, he participated in the preparation of supervisory guidelines and recommendations, as well as in conducting pre-application and application processes for internal models of insurance companies. From 2020, Acting Managing Director of the Insurance Supervision Division, where he oversaw insurance sector matters concerning solvency, risk assessment, licensing and authorization, and inspections.

From 2014 to 2020, UKNF representative to the International Organization of Pension Supervisors (IOPS). Since 2021, Member of the Supervisory Board of the Insurance Guarantee Fund.

Graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics at the University of Warsaw, where he defended his thesis on applications of mathematics in finance. Participant of numerous trainings, courses and seminars in the field of insurance and actuarial science.
