The Russian invasion of Ukraine has shown that Poland and Central and Eastern Europe are not only not free from the great changes that are sweeping through the modern world, but are not safe either.
In order to meet the challenges of the new times, the countries of the Three Seas Initiative (12 EU countries European Union: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary) need not only the continuation adopted in 2015 year of the agenda, i.e. cooperation in the areas of: energy, transport, digital communication and economy, but in the face of new challenges, to URGENTLY strengthen it at every level.
To make sense for the Three Seas project in the changing world of geopolitical, technological and social revolution, the elites of the countries that contribute to it must discuss contemporary challenges and find consensus on basic issues. The basis for this must be the knowledge about the countries of initiative and potential hidden in cooperation. We want to start this dialogue by establishing the Academy of Three Seas Leaders, a forge of future elites and a laboratory of future ideas and concepts that would have a real impact on the economic life of the countries involved in the project as well as the entire region. Those would be the annual meetings of several dozen of people from 12 countries under the auspices of Congress 590, in which, as observers, representatives of countries closely related to the region, i.e. Ukraine, Turkey and Moldova, will also participate.
The project would perfectly fit into the architecture of cooperation under this initiative (including the existing local government and business forums), as well as the program of Congress 590, during which the Academy participants would have the opportunities for public appearances, meetings and discussions as well as presenting ideas and concepts developed during their stay in Poland.
