Józef Maria Ruszar, associate professor – director of the national Instytut Literatury, editor-in-chief of the cultural quarterly “New Inscription”. In 2008-2010, director of the social communication department at the National Bank of Poland, since 2016, associate professor at the Ignatianum University in Kraków.

Since 2004, he has been organizing international academic conferences “Zbigniew Herbert’s Work- shops” and publishing the series “Mr. Cogito’s Library” (with over 65 publications by 2022). He is the author of the books: His brother’s keeper. The principle of responsibility in the poetry of Zbigniew Herbert (Lublin 2004); The sun of the republic. Roman civilization in the works of Zbigniew Herbert (Kraków 2014); A worn- out profile of Roman coins. Economics as a literary topic (Kraków 2016); Mane, tekel, fares. Images of God in the works of Tadeusz Różewicz (Bielsko-Biała–Kraków 2019). In 2016–2019 he was the head of the National Program for the Development of Humanities grant “Images of God, man and the world in Polish literature of the 20th century”.
