Izabela Stelmańska

Experienced local government official at provincial level, public manager, expert in tourism and promotion.

I have worked at the Office of the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship in Warsaw for over 20 years. Since 2008 I have held the position of Deputy Director in the Department of Culture, Promotion and Tourism. Since 2010 I have been a member of the Mazovian Council for Public Benefit Activity. Issues of non-governmental organizations have always been close to my heart. In 2006 I co-founded Mazovian Regional Tourist Organization, where since 2021 I have been the President of the Board. I know how to obtain and use EU funds. Thanks to them I have implemented a number of projects in the local government, e.g. a large promotional project entitled Creation of a tourist brand of Mazovia. I am not afraid of challenges, nothing is impossible for me. I have managed and organized the return to the country of more than 10 thousand tourists of insolvent travel agencies. I actively participate in the work related to the change of regulations on tourism, because tourism is not only my job, but above all my passion. Thanks to a wide variety of projects I work on, I can broaden my skills and gain new experience at every step. My favorite elements at work are challenges and people. Since 1999 I have been involved in the development of tourism in Mazovia. Building the Mazovia Heart of Poland Brand and its recognition, which we undertook in 2008, also turned out to be a great challenge. Building the local government Brand within the structures of the office is, at first sight, an impossible and difficult task to realise, however, thanks to consistency in action and following the maxim "to want is to be able" Mazovia has its own recognisable Brand. At work I focus on people and cooperation. I also take care of my team, with which we realize common goals, complement and support each other. It does not matter which event I organize, because each is equally important. Even the smallest project I approach with full commitment and professionalism, because work is my passion. In 2021, I took 12th place in the Ranking of the Most Influential People in Polish Tourism according to Wasz Tourism Business Magazine, and in the same year I received an Eagle of Tourism "Rzeczpospolita" for exceptional achievements in promoting tourism of Mazovia region.
